Ceci dans le souci de regrouper les merveilleuses pensées des femmes. Ces échanges auront pour but de confronter les expériences qui se vivent dans les champs d’activités de deux générations distinctes (l’ancienne et la nouvelle génération).

WHO: Afrika Yetu Inc in collaboration with AJAPO, House of Transformation Global Ministry, Graceland Missionary Church, House of Transformation Global Ministry, Islamic Center of Pittsburgh, UAC SWPA., PAAPO
WHAT: We are hosting our third emergency Food Distribution that addresses dietary restrictions, transportation difficulties, financial challenges and educational gaps facing the African Community, in Western Pennsylvania
WHEN: Saturday, May23rd, 2020 from 12 PM (noon) until 3 PM.
WHERE: The distribution centers include House of Transformation (623 South Main Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15220), Graceland Missionary Church (5 Grape Street, Pittsburgh PA 15210) and Redeemed Church of Christ (900 Penn Ave, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221)
We are addressing the financial challenges of individual/family needs. AJAPO and Afrika Yetu are accepting financial donations to distribute to those who meet the Initiative Guidelines for support.
We are working closely with Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh Public School systems to address the technology complications, educational gaps, and language barriers for families. This information will be available during distribution.
We will continue to combine resources to provide this service for the duration of the pandemic. Our mission is to provide assistance to the African Diaspora. It is imperative that we continue to work together and show our ancestral principles like Unbuntu and Sankofa. We must see ourselves through each other before we return to normalcy.

Afrika Yetu's 2019 30 in 3 Rivers Celebration reflects on 30 years of African dance, music, cultural programs in Pittsburgh and beyond.
We are proud to be celebrating 30 years of rich history and success in raising the standards of African culture in the USA and particularly in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Elie Kihonia, international musician, master drummer, co founder of UMOJA and also founder of Afrika Yetu,, Inc has been working assiduously to bridge African and American cultures in business and the arts since 1989.
Please join us on Friday November 22nd, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the opulent Omni William Penn, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown Pittsburgh for the Black Diamond Ball Gala, this year, celebrating our 30th Anniversary in the city of Three Rivers and honoring Elie Kihonia himself, along with the performers who have been instrumental in his tenure in the city of Pittsburgh.
Guests will have a taste of exotic African dishes, wines, top international musicians, and win Authentic African unique arts memorabilia during our auction and raffle.

Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration
Join us as we celebrate Kwanzaa, an African American and of year community celebration honoring family, community and culture, instituted by Maulana Karenga, presenting the seven principles of Nguzo Saba: Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia(self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (collective economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity), Imani (faith).
This year's seven-day festival highlights an innovative and traditional blend of performances and installations of excellence presented by artists residing in Pittsburgh and its surrounding cities. The Citywide Kwanzaa includes theatre, music, spoken word, dance, hip-hop, visual arts, family and educational activities and more; and features WACONGO Dance Company Soukous Stars, The Legends & more.
